Market demand for bottom-printing machinery is driven primarily by the home appliance sector. Egypt currently hosts 39 home appliance manufacturers-including foreign brands such as Midea, Haier, Konka, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Electrolux, Sharp, OPPO, and Italy's Kimbo. Fueled by the rapid expansion of Egypt's real estate market, there is robust demand for large appliances like refrigerators, wide-screen televisions, washing machines, and dishwashers. For the corrugated box industry, these large appliance manufacturers represent a high-end client base; to stand out in a competitive market, many box factories are adopting bottom-printing machinery. This technology eliminates the need for sheet-flipping steps-thereby reducing damage to the boxes-and effectively resolves printing defects (such as unprinted spots) caused by the high levels of dust in the Egyptian environment
Egypt market is expanding across several key segments. The folding carton sector alone is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.1% to reach USD 395.81 million by 2031. This growth is fueled by the country's expanding food and beverage exports, which reached over USD 6.3 billion in 2025, increasing the need for durable, export-grade corrugated packaging.
Key drivers include the rapid expansion of e-commerce, with platforms like Talabat Mart opening major fulfillment centers, and government policies that encourage sustainable practices. The market is also seeing a trend toward higher specification boards as manufacturers invest in advanced technology to meet the needs of sectors like food, electronics, and retail. Domestic production is being boosted by local companies like Greenliner and BloomPack, who are introducing new machinery to serve the premium tier of the market, further solidifying Egypt's position as a growing hub for corrugated packaging in the region.
