Installing a used Bobst Vision 160 requires rigorous preparation. Due to prior wear, you must prioritize safety, alignment, and system verification before production.
1. Pre-Installation & Mechanical Inspection
Before powering on, perform a "production worthiness" assessment. Inspect the main shaft, bearings, and the lower platen drive for unusual wear or play. Because the machine is second-hand, check the gripper bar chain for elongation and inspect all safety clutch mechanisms. Verify the foundation is level to prevent twisting the main frame.
2. Electrical & Pneumatic Hookup
Connect main power and verify phase rotation for the main motor. The Vision 160 utilizes extensive sensors for sheet travel and registration; check all photocells and limit switches for damage. 4. Die & Pressure Setting
Install the cutting die and make-ready sheet. Because used machines may have slight platen wear, use a test to check cutting rule penetration uniformity across the sheet. Adjust the cutting pressure gradually to avoid damaging the used platen surface.
