The Corrugated Carton Box Slotting Machine is a specialized piece of equipment designed to make precise slotters and creases in corrugated board, transforming flat sheets into folded box blanks ready for assembly. When printing and die-cutting machines offer additional capabilities, the slotting machine focuses on the essential structural elements that allow a box to fold, close, and hold its shape.

The production process begins with sheet feeding. Corrugated board sheets, typically pre-printed or plain, are loaded into the machine's feeder section. An automatic feed system aligns each sheet and moves it through the machine at a controlled speed. Some machines use vacuum belts or friction rollers to ensure consistent sheet travel without skewing.

Next, the sheet enters the slotting section. This area contains rotating shafts equipped with slotting knives and creasing rings. The slotting knives cut deep slits into the board at designated locations. These slots create the flaps on a regular slotted container (RSC) and allow the box to fold properly. Typical slot depths range from 50 mm to 150 mm depending on box size. Simultaneously, the creasing rings press crease lines into the board without cutting through. These crease lines act as hinges, enabling the box to fold cleanly along the edges of the flaps and panels.

Some advanced slotting machines also include a scoring section. Scoring compresses the corrugated medium along fold lines, ensuring precise 90-degree or 180-degree bends without cracking the liner paper. After slotting and creasing, the finished box blanks are stacked or delivered directly to a folder-gluer for assembly.

Finally, the machine's auto stacker unit collects the processed blanks. Operators can adjust slot depth, crease position, and sheet alignment to accommodate different box sizes and styles. For carton factories producing standard RSC boxes, pizza boxes, or fruit crates, the slotting machine provides a fast, reliable, and cost-effective solution for converting flat corrugated board into functional carton boxes.
